I agree. Quite a few bands and artists have incorporated it as an instrument. I guess there are more than one person claiming to have invented “scratching” but I think it dates back to the 1970s. Beck, the Beastie Boys, tons of rap and R&B groups have used them. I’ve seen turntablists that were tons of fun to watch and absolutely what they were creating was unique music in its own right.
